About the Position: Serves as a Supply Technician (Forklift Operator) at Pine Bluff Arsenal in Pine Bluff Arkansas.
Duties
Serves as technical resource person for employee's working with and handling hazardous materials and Chemical Defense Equipment.
Research supply sources to obtain required materials.
Performs reviews and screenings for incoming hazardous material receipts to ensure proper handling requirements are met.
Executes routine duties while relying on instructions, regulations, policies and precedents to ensure success of assignments
Maintains automated Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for ready access and reference of hazardous items.
Maintains close contact with organizational personnel and tenants for coordination and identification of hazardous materials.
Utilizes various office automation equipment and programs to store and retrieve files, produce letters and memos pertaining to supply and inventory.
Maintains automated supply data and source materials and lists for use in procurement of supplies and parts.
Uses knowledge of supply policies and regulations to identify discrepancies in automated systems and databases.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State and Government driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical examination.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) assisting with screening incoming hazardous material receipts 2) Performing some supply management duties regarding receiving, issuing, storage, and processing of documents/materials related to both direct and indirect hazardous/non-hazardous items. 3) Operating material handling equipment to load, unload, and/or move equipment and/or supplies.
and 4) Using supply regulations, policies, procedures or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
