About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Science and Technology Directorate, Advanced Conventional Weapons, Charlottesville, VA 22911..

Duties

Serves as a full-performance intelligence analyst/professional engineer with responsibility for research, analysis and production of finished scientific and technical (S and T) intelligence products. Exploits and analyzes collected intelligence data to develop models and computer software simulations incorporating computer aided design. Defines critical intelligence issues and trends for this area as well as innovative projects to produce targeted intelligence products. May serve as a technical expert in support of national level policy discussions, providing non-specialists with assessment and implications of complex technical issues.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
