About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W4JLAA STRATEGIC SYSTEMS SUPPORT ELEMENT.

Duties

Serves as a Supervisory All-Source Intelligence Analyst and Branch Chief for All-Source Intelligence branch in the Directorate of Intelligence (G2). Serves as Team Leader or Senior Analyst of an analyst team or working group providing intelligence support for contingency operations or exercises. Evaluates accuracy of Intelligence reporting. Develops and implements strategies to assure proper alignment of available analytical resources. Utilizes state-of-the-art intelligence research tools. Mentors junior analysts in support of professional development. Coordinates with military, government, and industry organizations. Prepares and conducts intelligence briefings.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance based on a SBI.
  • Must sign a statement attesting to the understanding of DCIPS provisions as indicated in AR 690-13.
  • Must pass the organization's Personnel Reliability Program which includes credit check, drug screening, polygraph and psychological evaluation.
  • Travel may be required up to 35% of the time. May be required to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) CONUS or OCONUS in support of command requirements or overseas contingency operations in order to perform official duties.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in organizations operations and training CONUS and OCONUS.

Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Experience applying the methodology, doctrine, procedures, tools and techniques of multi-discipline all-source analysis. 2) Experience in planning, developing, and presenting formal and informal briefings to senior level officials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
