About the Position: This position is a Lead Acquisition and Business Specialists provide advice, guidance, and support to Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal contracting staff and mission partners for the effective use of various strategic source vehicles to meet acquisition needs. They exercise independent judgment in the performance of research and strategy execution of innovative solutions that offer efficiencies to the acquisition and business management process.

Duties

Serve as team leader in managing customer and industry relations to ensure Category Management and Strategic Sourcing principles are applied to acquisition strategies to ensure objectives are met. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates by setting priorities, preparing schedules and assigning work based on established priorities. Develop ACC-RSA’s strategy for employing Category Management and Strategic Sourcing principles, vehicles and tools, and other acquisition tools. Serve as senior advisor to senior-level program officials in procurement planning meetings. Serve as a senior advisor on improved utilization of category management tools, strategic sourcing, and acquisition execution. Administer a variety of recurring and ad hoc assignments in such areas as acquisition and procurement related research and analysis, oversight and review, process improvement. Administer customer relations program to seek opportunities to advise, counsel, and support ACC-RSA mission partners and consider the use of strategic sources and solutions. Foster relationships with key senior mission partner acquisition personnel, overseeing the planning, coordination, and facilitation of corporate outreach, seminars, workshop, briefing, and training events.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
  • Must file financial statement.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience of specialized experience which includes: 1) Coordinating with personnel for acquisition, procurement management and/or project management of government acquisition projects to include acquisition, procurement strategy development, procurement and/or programmatic business arrangements, contracts, negotiation, contract modifications; 2) Reviewing contracts for compliance with acquisition program requirements by evaluating audit and contract compliance review reports, regulations, and other relevant material; 3) Developing departmental contract and acquisition guides or procedures; AND 4) Interpreting commercial and/or government contract/acquisition automation practices, products, capabilities and developments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition StrategyCommunicationsLeadershipStrategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education cannot be substituted for experience.
