You will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist (GG-13) and Information Assurance Security Engineer (IASE) for the Security Engineering (SE) Division (N66), Cyber Security Department (N6), Hopper Information Services Center (ISC), executing the Information System Security Engineering role in accordance with applicable Assessment & Authorization (A&A) frameworks. This position is located in Suitland, MD at HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER.
Duties
You will provide guidance and interpretation related to cyber security publications.
You will employ and advise on implementing security controls within an information system including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques.
You will participate, engage, and provide feedback during requirements discovery meetings (e.g. IA Overview Briefs), Technical Exchange Meetings (TEM), and joint development and design sessions.
You will design, develop, integrate, test, implement, deploy, operate and maintain enterprise tools that automate security assessment and compliance in support of Assessment and Authorization and Continuous Monitoring (ConMon).
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
- This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 67and incumbents of the position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2.
- This position performs a primary cyber work role of [631], and additional cyber work roles of [insert additional work roles if appropriate], per the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework.
Qualifications
Must have one year of IT related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties such as:
1) Implementing security controls within an information system in accordance with organizational standards;
2) Capturing and refining information security requirements to ensure compliance with organizational guidance;
3) Implementing solutions to assess, monitor, and strengthen the security posture of the enterprise;
4) Analyzing changes to the enterprise with respect to security impact to provide formal risk analysis and recommendations.
