About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Science and Technology Directorate, Advanced Conventional Weapons Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
Duties
Conducts and conveys imagery analysis and use geospatial data sources.
Will use MS Excel and MATLAB to convert S and T data into Geospatial data.
Programs and troubleshoots in R, python, html, and javascripts to develop desktop and web-based tools.
Interfaces with customers providing specifics on Advanced Mobility Viewer (AMV) and mensuration, products and tools.
Conducts intelligence analyst within S and T Intel Center supporting all-source mobility analysis.
Defines, identifies, modifies and validates analytical tools and processes and the means to effectively deploy, train, maintain and support these tools.
Write comments and tutorials for software tools; Publish to web-based mapping servers and programs
Uses Python Programming to develop Geospatial tools
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience developing and applying data science, data management, and data mining techniques to process, analyze and integrate raw data into the production and dissemination of finished Scientific and Technical (S&T) intelligence and/or General Military Intelligence (GMI) assessments related to foreign ground forces and systems and their effectiveness.
