You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Mechanical) in the Facility and Plant Planning division of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will advise design engineers and process planners of the capabilities and limitations of computer numerical controlled (CNC) tools.
You will compose technical engineering instruction and procedures for mechanical, electrical, or structural maintenance, alterations, or repairs
You will adapt oral communication methods and styles based on the audience and the target objectives
You will analyze data system anomalies to determine if caused by equipment or operational errors

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as: 1) performing basic techniques and methodologies of manufacturing and rework of aircraft and engine parts and components utilizing computer numerical control (CNC) manufacturing and programming methods. 2) CNC machining background, displaying depot production operations and have ability to read standard "G code" programming language. 3) Planning order of operations for machining basic parts on 2 thru 3 axis machines and calculating proper feeds and speeds. 4) Utilizing a wide array of software, Siemens NX CAD/CAE design software and Vericut simulation software. 5) Extensive experience in tool designing, toolmaking, manufacturing, CNC programming related to aircraft rework and maintenance. 6) Coordinating the trial run (prove out) of the CNC program.
