You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MATERIALS) in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST FST DEPT ENGINEERING DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will analyze material solutions using laboratory methods.
You will perform surface finishing preparation and apply inorganic coatings.
You will establish criteria, formulate projects, assess effectiveness, and analyze problems.
You will evaluate data, develop solutions, and provide reports on progress of technical assignments.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Providing expert knowledge of aerospace component manufacturing overhaul and repair processes
Performing industrial surface finishing preparation and the application of inorganic coatings
Analyzing material/solutions and evaluating using laboratory methods
Using Statistical Process Controls to ensure suitability of processing tanks' chemistries.
Providing clear, conscise report on progress of technical assignments and completed technical project work.
Coordinating with lead engineers, technicians, artisans, integrated quality team, quality assurance, and production management members in troubleshooting aspects of aircraft component's surface finish processing.
