This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining balances and reconciles to avoid over commitment of funds and ensures adequacy of records from cradle to grave.

Duties
As a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Prepares real-time audits and recommendations for corrective action.
Reviews current and prior year data for reconciliation of entries with internal records and adjusting errors as warranted. Reconciles current and prior year accounts to clear unmatched disbursements and negative unliquidated obligations.
Responsible for verification of monthly and year-end reports, i.e., trial balances that have a direct link to the DMA Chief Financial Officer's consolidated financial statement.
Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) in the development and preparation of data for assigned Component financial plans, budgets and Five-Year Defense Plans (FYDP), which projects requirements for six years beyond the budget years(s).
Serves as the alternate Risk Management Internal Control (RMIC) Program point of contact.

- This is a Financial Management Proficiency Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Budgeting and financing mission-related programs and services sufficient to analyze exceptionally large and complex programs; developing long-range (multi-year) budget plans utilizing the DoD PPBS process;
Ensuring that obligations and expenditures of funds are in accordance with existing laws and regulations with thorough understanding of the Federal budget process and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD);
Recommending adjustments to the allocation of funds within budget accounts;
Evaluating changes in financial management and internal control systems in order to gather information, report findings and develop conclusions on the area being audited.
