The primary purpose of this position is to a position in the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS). As such,
the incumbent will administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-today
operations. Additionally, trains Reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff
(CSS).
Plans, organizes and executes all Group information management and personnel activities and manages
training programs for administration and personnel specialists assigned within the Medical Group and units
in accordance with established command guidelines.
Serves as the Group point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and
manpower actions.
Prepares and delivers presentations such as briefings, training sessions, and consultations with serviced
Commander(s), other staff agencies and functional areas to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters
and convey information and participates in special studies and projects relating to planning, coordinating,
and analyzing the effectiveness/efficiency of the Group CSS in meeting Air Force Administration program
goals.
Develops CSS consolidated resource plan for staff support to include budget, equipment, computers, supplies
and required services.
Exercises limited supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience working with military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, instructions, etc., to understand respective programs and discuss findings with function managers; experience working with automated systems, personal computers, hardware, and software; and experience applying the facts, investigative techniques, and ability to analyze data/products to determine adequacy of programs and/or deficiencies thereof.

EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
In-depth knowledge of administrative and military personnel policies, processes, procedures, Reserve mission,
training methods and programs, rules, guidelines and instruction.
In-depth knowledge of the automated systems, personal computers, hardware, and software. Ability to analyze data/products.
Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of an organization; communicate effectively with
diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of analytical and investigative techniques to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
Knowledge of management principles within both the civilian and military personnel systems, and the ability to
integrate the civilian and military personnel aspects in order to successfully accomplish the organization's mission.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of training goals and objectives to assist in the management and implementation of training goals for the CSS
personnel.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
