Duties

The working title for this position is a Deputy Branch Chief. As a Deputy Branch Chief, you will perform the following: Senior analyst responsible for performing special projects, initiatives, studies, and assignments for the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). Supporting resource programs and projects through identification of funds required to support various levels of program operations. Influencing policy in response to appropriation or legislative changes by strategically analyzing issues as related to current and proposed missions. Analyzing interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs.

To qualify at the GS-14 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Providing direction and advice to operating divisions related to all functions of an organization such as strategic planning, budget and finance, contract oversight, staffing, equipment, etc.; Evaluating new or modified program/management policies, regulations, procedures, or objectives to advise, develop, or implement necessary changes; and Managing a portfolio of programs, projects, and operations established to carry out the planning and execution of mission objectives.
