About the Position: The position is located in the US Army, Integrated Logistics Support Center. The ILSC-Soldier provides full service logistics support to the U.S. Army's most important weapon system, the Soldier. The Center manages and oversees a comprehensive, integrated program for major and secondary Department of Defense items and insures supportability and operational readiness of Soldier, chemical and biological systems and items.
Duties
Serve as Chief of a Weapon System Group in a Commodity Business Unit with supervisory and management responsibilities for assigned personnel.
Responsible for exercising integrated management control over tank-automotive vehicle system(s), complex subsystem(s), and/or commodity area(s) encompassing the major items and secondary end items.
Direct accomplishment of assigned functions in the Product Support Integration Directorate (PSID) consisting of Technical Publications, New Equipment Training/Total Package Fielding, Integrated Logistics Support and Provisioning Support.
Coordinate activities concerning ILSC business and commodity areas with outside agencies and within TACOM LCMC.
Review and recommend major personnel management and administrative actions to the PSID Director.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- his position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- A one-year probationary periods may be required.
- This position requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.

Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Interpreting technical policy, procedures and regulations to ensure adherence to schedules and priorities; 2) Briefing leadership or key officials on program status and evaluate policies and proposals involving logistics support missions or programs; 3) Analyzing the impact of current activities on current and projected resources, to recommend feasible alternatives, to determine milestone events; AND 4) Establishing and/or leading teams to execute complex, multi-disciplinary logistics programs.
The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent.

CES provides leader development opportunities for Army civilians. The following course and time requirements apply to this position:
- The Foundation Course (FC) is required for all employees hired after 30 September 2006.
- The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position.
- For supervisor at the GS-13 to GS-15 levels (or equivalent pay bands), the Advanced Course (AC) must be completed within two years after placement into the position. This is a DOD Demonstration Project position. Under the Defense Authorization Act, personnel management demonstration programs are operating in numerous Army activities and various other organizations supported by Army civilian personnel centers. Under the streamlined personnel operations for the demonstration projects, the familiar 15 General Schedule grade structure is replaced with broad pay bands that typically encompass a range of grades. For example, acquisition jobs in level NH-IV of broad banding encompass the traditional GS-14 through GS-15 grades. Other initiatives under the demonstration projects include simplified job classification, streamlined hiring processes, and expanded developmental opportunities.
