• The position is telework eligible consistent with the Agency’s telework and remote work program policy.This position is located in Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Office of Public Engagement for Nondiscrimination (OPEN CENTER). The incumbent serves as a Government Information Specialist on the public information team and is responsible for supporting OCR's enforcement program in furtherance of the mission of the Department and OCR.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification RequirementsYou may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-13, if you possess the specialize experience.Specialized Experience for the GS-13One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-12 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1. Experience with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act (PA), or other laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the administration of public programs. 2. Experience with the various programs and procedures used in the processing of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Privacy Act (PA) requests. 3. Experience with participating in and contributing to team efforts to improve the internal processes used to apply Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Privacy Act (PA).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). You do not need to provide separate narrative responses to these KSAs, as they will be measured by your responses to the occupational questionnaire (you may preview the occupational questionnaire by clicking the link at the end of the Evaluations section of this vacancy announcement).1. Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate data for responses to Federal government information.2. Skill in formulating policy, advising management, and compliance with Federal laws. 3. Knowledge of the body of laws, regulations, precedents, policies, and principles to assess compliance with Federal government information.4. Knowledge of safeguarding of Government information.
