Duties

Provides Tier 3 DLA Enterprise level support for Backup/Archive/Disaster Recovery architectures for both the Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and the Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET). Ensures the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products and services. Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Identifies, distributes and balances workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization. Adjusts workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks. Implements and sets up backup solutions and Infrastructure and backup policies based on customer requirements, and license management. Maintains internal hardware and software inventory, internal budget, maintenance contracts and procurement contracts. Provides technical guidance, analysis, advice, and troubleshooting/ problem resolution on a wide range of operational problems involving enterprise IT services that impact enterprise operations. Isolates, identifies, analyzes, evaluates and resolves hardware, software and/or communications problems as they relate to Backup/Archive/Disaster Recovery architectures. Participates in planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating results of feasibility and hardware/software performance studies and environmental tests of assigned products for enterprise implementation.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Lead IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Experience with Backup to include, Software, Disk to Disk Appliances, SAN Storage Arrays, Tape Solutions, Replication, Disk to disk replication, deduplication technologies, and backup hardware appliance administration used to provide authoritative advice to ensure a highly available, physical, virtualized, and Cloud environment in support of customer requirements. Knowledge of all software and hardware products included in the Backup, Archive, and Disaster Recovery environments to provide seamless interface and integration capabilities for recovery and retrieval of enterprise data. Experience with Archive administration to ensure that assigned resources are operating in a secure and highly available configuration. Experience with diagnostic techniques and procedures to analyze and isolate problems related to system, storage, network hardware or software used to provide technical assistance to customers, OEM representatives and 3rd party provider representatives in resolving problems/issues. Maintaining program and administrative reference materials, project files and relevant back-ground documents and making available policies, procedures, and written instructions from the supervisor. Evaluating and recommending new systems diagnostic tools and ensuring Backup, Archive, and Disaster Recovery solutions integrity and availability by monitoring operational metrics. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
