About the Position: Serves as the Branch Chief in Task Force VIPR's Real Estate Team, overseeing the execution of real estate requirements related to various disaster relief programs, to include the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018/Bipartisan Infrastructure Law/Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. Responsible for planning, scheduling, budgeting, coordinating, advising, and supervising Branch activities in support of acquisition, relocations, and crediting/reimbursement of real estate.

Duties

Serve as agency’s technical expert on real property acquisition and crediting of real estate costs within a direct acquisition or cost-shared project. Provide supervision, oversight, direction, execution, coordination, and evaluation of the real estate acquisition program by leading and directing a diverse team of real estate professionals. Ensure assigned Branch meets organizational deadlines and effectively communicate project and personnel status to leadership. Administer training, assign work, and provide oversight to the Branch to achieve greatest program efficacy with available resources. Negotiate complex acquisitions and/or crediting discussions that are critical, controversial, and/or unusual in nature.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying knowledge of directives, laws, policies, and regulations relating to Federal and Army real estate procedures associated with the planning for real estate acquisition projects; the acquisition of real estate via direct purchase or working through a partner to identify and acquire interests in real estate; performing reviews of partner's documentation to evaluate and recommend credit/reimbursement for costs associated with the acquisition of real property interests; supervising a team assigned to execute the acquisition of real estate interests and all associated actions; resourcing a diverse team in the execution of real estate products and services; and communicating and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
