National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Performs technical and procedural administrative support and coordination duties for a NDU College or Component. Interacts professionally with senior members of the military, the government, and academia.
Plan, coordinate and integrate administrative activities and procedural functions of the office: daily operational, and administrative duties, and mid-to-long range schedule planning and coordination of academic faculty related events and program.
Directly supports an Operations Chief, Chief of Staff, Dean of Administration, or Operations Supervisor in all fact-finding, editing and routing of correspondence, work measurement and processes.
Assists in task studies and analysis activities related to the efficient and effective administration, management, and operations supporting the delivery of an academic program(s) at the University.
Serves as the ES passport/visa accepting agent. Coordinates and conducts passport/visa support with NDU and Department of Defense or Department of State agents. Supports ES international travel with system accounts and information management.
Coordinates CONUS/OCONUS travel as required to support faculty, staff, students and guest speakers.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
Qualifications
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-5 federal experience for GS-7 and GS-7 federal experience for GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
GS-7 Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with administrative policies, practices and an understanding of how these activities impact customer support operations.
GS-9 Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with 1) domestic and international travel processing; 2) providing advice to high level faculty/staff/students of administrative policies; 3) preparing standardized documents, academic publications, policy directives memos; 4) developing and maintaining long-range master calendars; 5) paper and electronic file/record management; 6) coordinating personnel actions; and 7) attendance and timecard management.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:For the GS-07: One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement (
http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/policy/ApplicationOfStds-04.asp) may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
For the GS-9: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
