This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Diversion Control Division, Office of Diversion Control Policy, Diversion Planning & Resources Section (DPA). This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as Senior Program Analyst providing guidance on resource policies and issues affecting program operations.

As a Senior Program Analyst your typical work assignments may include: Serving as the subject matter expert (SME) on Diversion-specific policies and recommending decisions based on policy interpretation. Serving as Senior Program Analyst and primary point of contact for Diversion Planning & Resources Section for developing and maintaining positive relations with associated subordinate offices, organizations, and agencies involved in the Diversion program. Planning, organizing, researching, writing, and directing a wide variety of Diversion program plans, operations, outreach projects, and studies. Establishing goals, objectives, programs, and general guidance for operations subject to the framework of laws, regulations and policies of the agency. Planning, directing, and evaluating financial, technical, staffing, and other resources for the Diversion program.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. One year of specialized experience for this position includes: GS-14: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) conducting comprehensive administrative studies and detailed analyses of complex function; 2) interpreting and revising existing policy and regulatory guidance; 3) providing guidance in the resolution of complex problems or issues impacting programs; and 4) drafting decision papers and reports.
