About the Position: This position is located within the Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore Georgia. The incumbent will serve as the Simulation Program Specialist who oversees simulation training and exercises overall responsibility for coordinating training, supply and budget requirements for a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Simulation Center.

Duties

Manage and coordinate training of highly sophisticated virtual reality medical simulators. Train civilian and military personnel on proper use of each simulator/equipment so that maintenance issues are reduced. Act as a proctor for simulation training and assists other proctors by overseeing training. Oversee the safe use of all simulators/equipment. Provide monthly reports to the organization's Simulation Medical Director regarding use, training, marketing and budget issues. Responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and tracking simulation equipment/supplies and for the turn-in of these equipment/supplies. Manage the basic repairs, calibration and troubleshooting for each simulator and maintains instrumentation and equipment associated with each simulator. Maintain professional contact with companies/persons impacting or responsible for development of simulation technology. Utilize office software in order to gather/maintain data relevant to simulation training Contact the necessary personnel whose needs might be met by each new piece of simulation technology being demonstrated.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes manage and coordinate simulation training on the proper use of medical simulator/equipment; utilize computer databases to obtain and edit medical simulation data; oversee medical simulator supply and budget requirements.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: health care administration, healthcare simulation, or adult education. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsEducation & TrainingManages and Organizes InformationModeling and Simulation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
