About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Medical Command Headquarters, located Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Serves as the expert for the Patient Administration Division.
Duties
Provide both short- and long-term planning guidance in accordance with broad agency program policies and objectives to meet program goals.
Provides recommendations on policies and programs to address privacy issues.
Implement strategies for significant changes to policies, procedures, functions and programs.
Understanding of DoD healthcare facility planning healthcare processes and standards.
Develops, revises, publishes, and implements policy about implementation and compliance of MEDCOM and Army entities with the HIPAA Privacy Rule and use and disclosure of PHI.
Requirements

- Position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel of up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) Developing and implementing healthcare polices and/or regulations; (2) Support healthcare facility planning; (3) Coordinate healthcare trainings and advancement of technologies; (4) Preparing high level written documents and/or reports for executive level inquiries; AND (5) Make recommendations for resolution of difficult and sensitive policy issues and actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
