About the Position: This position is located at the USAJFK SPECIAL WARFARE CENTER & SCHOOL in Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serves as a leadership Training Specialist, responsible for the development of viable USAJFKSWCS leadership training products, materials, and programs for the ARSOF.
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for resident training options and instructional delivery modes, including distance learning for professional development at all levels (WO, NCO and officer).
Exercises an in-depth practical knowledge of program objectives and policies and regulations.
Identifies and solves systematic leadership training problems or shortfalls by maintaining a continuing dialog with regional planners, i.e. US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), and Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an obligated position.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) is required 20% of the time.
- This is a TERM NTE 2 years position a 1 year probation period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Defining learning objectives and plans, with a concentration in developing training and/or professional military education (PME) courses. 2) Advising leadership on existing and/or emerging training strategies. 3) Preparing reports and/or documentation that provide assessments, sound conclusions, or innovative recommendations using established processes (example, Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation [ADDIE] for a Special Operations command (example, Army Special Operations Forces [ARSOF] training requirements. 4) Providing professional military education development options and instructional delivery modes, including distance learning for professional development at all levels (WO, NCO and officer). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS 11 or above.
