You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEM INTEGRATION DIVISION, MODERNIZATION & INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. Salary by Location: Mayport, FL: $82,830 - $151,308 Norfolk, VA: $83854 - $153,178 San Diego, CA: $93,858 - $171,452 Port Hueneme, CA: $95,905 - $175,192

Duties

You will serve as the first level supervisor for branch personnel that involves the technical and administrative management of engineers, technicians and product support personnel. You will provide project management, planning technical direction, and personnel management for the assigned branch to include: daily management of branch personnel matters, assignment of tasks, and mentoring of employees. You will ensure compliance to requirements from the branch level through DoD level requirements, serve as a steward of safety, effectiveness and affordability, support department and station initiatives, as well as strategic objectives and goals. You will effectively communicate with branch and up the chain of command, including sponsors and the fleet representatives, as necessary on appropriate issues with the appropriate tempo. You will develop and or maintain work processes and procedures and ensure appropriate application and compliance. You will develop and brief position papers to all levels of management that outline current and future plans, requirements, and concerns. You will manage projects, budgets and contractor support requirements and provide technical leadership for the Fleet Modernization and Installation Division.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS 11-12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical oversight of internal processes and procedures required for inspection, maintenance, testing, and integration of naval surface combat and weapons system equipment during shipbuilding, modernization, or availability.
