You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANGEMENT ANALYST in the Military Sealift Command of MSC SHIP SUPPORT UNIT SAN DIEGO.
Duties
You will create estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
You will interpret budget policies and organizational accounting and financial administrative procedures.
You will perform specialized work involving accounting systems.
You will perform fiscal accounting and financial management duties and responsibilities.
You will review travel vouchers and create travel orders using DTS (Defense Travel System).
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. This certification level must be achieved within prescribed timelines.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in financial management policies, procedures and regulations to identify, analyze and resolve a range of budgetary issues.
Experience formulating budget and estimates to support plans, programs and activities.
Experience providing advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization.
Experience with Defense Travel Systems as a user and administrator.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
FOR
GS-11:
SUCCESSFUL completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M. if related.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
