You will serve as an IT Specialist (DATAMGT) of NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER OMN.

Duties

You will design physical data models that describe the structure for data storage, data indexing, data manipulation, and data retrieval applications. You will monitor and optimize database performance and tune database operations, generate complex queries and reports. You will execute the life cycle change process of applications and implement design changes in response to changes in customer functional requirements. You will establish troubleshooting procedures and document solutions to common problems for reference by other specialists.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Demonstrates an ability to comprehend the needs of stakeholders, customers, project scopes, deadlines, and overall mission; 2) Develops and maintains technical and operational documentation to support the hardware and software lifecycle, including installation, operation, modifications, and removal; 3) Conducts performance tuning activities aimed at optimizing data management processes and provides recommendations for performance enhancements, such as increasing storage capacity or modifying interfaces; 4) Offers technical guidance throughout the design, coding, testing, debugging, and maintenance phases of database development; 5) Translates and interprets functional requirements and leverages computer-assisted software engineering (CASE) tools in the design and development process; 6) Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, Sybase, and Oracle databases, including query development, table management, database roles, stored procedures, and database tuning; 7) Possesses extensive knowledge of server infrastructure, databases, and user interfaces within the Navy Standard Procurement System (SPS). Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
