This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Field Support Operations, Materiel Management & Fielding, Materiel Fielding & Training Directorate, Matrix Support, Warren, MI and Ft. Cavazos, TX.
Duties
1. Prepares, coordinates, and manages documentation that supports the fielding process to completion for Total Package Fielding (TPF) program.
2. Evaluates plans for provision of logistical support for feasibility, efficiency, economy, and developing alternatives when required.
3. Manages de-processing system tasks to prepare for inventory and transfer. Including performing all required preventative maintenance, performing equipment modifications, installation and assembly needed to prepare equipment.
4. Manages and tracks supply and fielding transactions using logistics tools, such as Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Defense Support Tool (DST) Army Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS), etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 75% of the time.
- The position requires a pre-employment physical, and annually thereafter.
- The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Position requires a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles or the incumbent must beable to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
- The incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Travel Card.
- When required participate in hazardous material training.
- May be required to handle Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL).
- The position requires the wear and use of prescribed personnel protective equipment.
- The position requires working in adverse conditions or outdoors in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather.
- The position requires working in loud environments to include but not limited to the motor pool, weapons live fire range, and explosive ordnance.
- The position requires working on, in and around, climbing up on, entering vehicles and operating in confined spaces.
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Integrating separate logistics functions to monitor, review, and evaluate performance for systems and equipment; 2. Applying logistics policies and regulations to develop support and or maintenance plans; 3. Applying analytical methods to resolve supply and or maintenance issues; AND 4. Serving as technical expert for an organization in support of integrated logistics support requirements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
