About the Position: Serves as the detachment's technical expert on Reserve Recruiting production statistics and policies. Will be the authoritative source to recruiters within the battalion on questions concerning recruiter awards and clarification on policies and regulatory guidance and in the absence of the RA Operations NCO, provides liaison and guidance to the field recruiters on active duty programs.

Duties

Maintain case files in compliance with established guidelines and procedures. Review award packets to ensure they are complete prior to forwarding for approval. Assess case documentation to ensure it is complete. Evaluate workload for accuracy before submitting to supervisor. Accomplish clerical tasks to support administrative requirements. Manage data in automated systems to produce organizational reports that support administrative tasks. Maintain files according to a record keeping system. Provide accurate administrative guidance to the serviced population. Advise supported units regarding military personnel regulations to assist them in proper processing of personnel actions. Prepare Command status reports for submission to higher headquarters. Ensure documentation adheres to military policy and regulations. Conduct quality control check of military award recommendations to ensure compliance with current Army regulations and directives. Monitor internal suspense files to ensure timely completion of assignments Review award packages to ensure all requirements have been met. Respond to management requests for administrative tasks with suspense dates. Refer to human resource standard operating procedures when completing assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel of up to 20% of the time.
  • Incumbent must possess a valid State and/or Federal Government driver's license in order to operate a motor vehicle in performance of above duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailClericalMilitaryTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
