You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Commanding Office of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV.
This position is equivalent to the GS-13/14 level.
Duties
You will serve as the command’s senior Explosive Safety Officer advising the Commanding Officer and Technical Director on all matters pertaining to the organizations explosives safety management program.
You will be responsible for the explosive safety of NSWC IHD through effective technical and administrative supervision of Code 00SA explosive safety specialists.
You will establish performance standards and ratings recommendations, and other common supervisory duties.
You will initiate directives and inspections necessary for compliance with the rules and regulations.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing guidance and oversight for the development and implementation of explosive safety instructions and guidance to improve program compliance and mitigate safety risk.
