Serves as a Program Support Assistant (OA) for the Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) Program, managing all administrative aspects and associated activities, programs, and related committees. Incumbent will be responsible for training activities associated with the PMDB program and will manage records to ensure that all employees receive appropriate and required parts of violence prevention and sexual assault awareness training.

Duties

Major Duties included but not limited to: Performs a wide variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the organization. Such work includes a variety of administrative functions necessary to run the PMBD and Work place Violence teams. In addition, the incumbent acts as liaison between the PMBD / Work Place Violence programs and other VA offices and administrative offices outside the organization. Files yearly report for the programs and is responsible for all administrative tasks necessary to coordinate the PMBD program and Workplace Violence program Responsible for assisting Workplace Violence in processes and retrieving data utilizing computerized systems. Documenting in the data based system. Reporting data collection to the Section Chief of the program. Taking minutes for multiple meetings and assisting a very complex service within the VA. Provides both technical and programmatic assistance to the Program Chief to carry out a wide range of complex duties and responsibilities. The position requires incumbent to be highly organized; have comprehensive working knowledge of special and . complex subject matter, procedures, or practices; exercise independent judgment; possess superb interpersonal skills; and have a multitude of administrative abilities. Provides coordination of administrative details and activities in support of multiple teams throughout the VA. Works directly with leadership and members of all services within the VA in the coordination of PMBD and Workplace Violence. Demonstrates skills in communication (verbal and written), problem solving and decision making, organizing, and have a broad knowledge of the many facets of the PMBD and Workplace Violence programs. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/16/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test 40 words per minute typing speed. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; answering telephones, referring visitors, and providing information. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Administration and ManagementClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The incumbent must have the ability to complete all 12 hours of PMDB training to have a full understanding of the techniques and methods involved, to actively train staff in all parts of PMDB as needed. This will require physical effort, standing, walking, bending, sitting, and hands on therapeutic containment activity with patients or employees during demonstrations of the techniques.
