About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Prepare worksheets and reports to keep operating managers and Commander advised on the status of current expenditures and the availability of funding.
Identify actual or potential problem areas, trends, and significant program accomplishments.
Perform accounting staff duties and maintains surveillance of the formulation and implementation of accounting procedures within the organization.
Review approved budget to determine if funding is sufficient for mission planned.
Evaluate trends in costs, man-hours, and variances during execution period, and recommends action when necessary to compensate for adverse trends.
Utilize automated systems to ensure that funds are properly allocated.
Requirements
- This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968, which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a DA Form 7281-R (Command Oriented Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Security Screening and Evaluation Record) per Army Regulation (AR) 190-11.
- This position requires the incumbent to meet the requirements of AMC-R 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing budgetary and workload guidance by developing operating plans, negotiating, coordinating, and controlling funds and work authorizations; developing and executing operating budgets; analyzing program progress; performing evaluative analyses of program objectives, policies, work operations, and progress; and providing technical guidance, recommendations, and information to complex operational managers concerning procedures and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
