About the Position: The position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE), US Army Armor School (USAARMS) 194th Armored Brigade Brigade S-4, Ft. Moore, Georgia 31905. The "Maneuver Center of Excellence" is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.
Duties
Initiate and/or conducts Safety and Occupational Health Inspections.
Conduct Safety and Occupational Health Inspections and/or Safety Risk Assessments
Serves as the 194th Assistant Safety Manager.
Collect accident data pertaining to training accidents.
Consult with Installation Safety Office on tactical and/or range safety issues.
Monitor operating effectiveness of the security alarm systems by administering a system for reporting violations and recommending corrective action in prescribed security procedures.
Serve as the Brigade's advisor to trainers.
Prepare accident summaries for the Brigade Commander and primary staff.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position may require overtime, night, weekend, and/or holiday work and may require the incumbent to work alternate or flexible work schedules in support of cyclic training schedules.
- This position is required to work "on-call status" and may be called back to work in an emergency situation such as accidents, firing-related incidents and training injuries.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes :(1) analyzing and evaluating physical security, Initiating, and conducting Safety and Occupational Health inspections, Job Site Surveys, and Safety Risk Assessments and conducting overall safety analysis for all facilities and training ranges. (2) working with programs such as Federal Employee Compensation Act (FECA) and Workman's Compensation Act.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
