About the Position: This position is located at Logistics Readiness Center. Fort Hood rests in the beautiful hill and lake country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. The Great Place is the ideal location, because of warm winters and hot summers.
Duties
Process convoy clearances in Transportation Coordinator Automated Information Management System II (TCAIMS II) and special hauling permits.
Implement assigned plans, procedures, and advises/assists the unit Container Control Officer (CCO) with internal plans and procedures for the assignment, control, reporting and accountability of all MILVAN TRICON and QUADCON containers.
Process documentation for road clearances with State officials, inspection and control of all off-post military convoys and special hauling requirements within Fort Hood area of responsibility.
Inspect deploying unit equipment and documentation for movement standards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position is designated key: employee occupying this position may not vacate during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission; employee possesses unique or scarce managerial or technical skills required by the wartime mission.
- This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment physical examination and annually thereafter.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
- Irregular work hours required after normal duty hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the Container Safety Convention (CSC) certification.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an automated database to track and ship containers to units and/or verify bill of lading for accuracy of shipment of goods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Transportation, Logistics or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
