Position is in Rehab and Extended Care Service Line at the VA Black Hills Health Care System Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) Division. This position has first line responsibility for the HBPC program and serves as the Program Support Assistant for the Rehab and Extended Care Service Line, the HBPC program requiring work with a diverse group of professionals, network, state, and national administrative staff.
Duties
Research and/or analyzes problems, issues, or program requirements
Determines pertinent issues and collects relevant information from a variety of sources
Develops recommendations and proposals for approval
The incumbent monitors the scheduling needs of the team assigned
Assuring coverage of all areas of responsibility, conducting ongoing reviews to ensure quality of work; providing guidance to staff members to include changes in policies and procedures; distributing and balancing workload; maintaining clinics; assists with orienting and providing on-the-job training for new and current employees
Serves as backup VATAS timekeeper
Provides input to the REC AO when budget information is needed
Responsible for assisting with auditing, compilation and reporting of different performance measured reports and ensures that all tasks and reports meet the required deadlines.
Incumbent serves as the back-up ADPAC
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0700-1600

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Skill in typing letters, memos, and other requested material; ability to do dictation and ability to do minutes; possess skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; skill in operating and troubleshooting various types of information technology i.e. computer, printer, fax machine, etc.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
