Duties

At the GS-07 you will perform developmental duties as assigned. At the GS-09 you will perform the duties listed below: You will work independently within the framework of established practices an prescribe procedures. You will perform more complicated assignments under close supervision of the Supervisor or Senior Management Analyst. You will receive instructions on what to do, methods to use, what to look for, and what to bring to the attention of the Supervisor or Senior Management Analyst. You will be provided detailed and specific instructions for developmental tasks and tasks involving the use of unfamiliar formats, methods, and procedures. You will refer problems not covered by the supervisor’s instructions or guides to the supervisor for help or a decision.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with administrative functions and assisting with duties such as preparing presentations, briefings, and/or special projects. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Applying knowledge of pertinent laws, policies, and precedents, major issues, program goals, and work processes to support management's philosophy and requirements of the organization; 2) Assisting in developing, creating, and preparing management manpower reports; 3) Reviewing and evaluating documents for accuracy; 4) Providing manpower and workforce management support to civilian and military personnel to improve and maintain an efficient organization. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing management and program analysis functions and assisting with duties related to the coordination, implementation, execution, control, and/or completion of projects. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Applying knowledge of pertinent laws, policies, and precedents, major issues, program goals, and work processes to support management's philosophy and requirements of the organization; 2) Developing, creating, and preparing management manpower reports; 3) Reviewing and evaluating documents for accuracy; 4) Preparing findings and recommended solutions, including preparations and presentations of charts, graphs, briefings, handbooks, reports, slides, forms, correspondence, etc. using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint); 5) Providing manpower and workforce management support to civilian and military personnel to improve and maintain an efficient organization. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

GS-09:
A master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
