Duties
You will provide physical, personnel, and information security to government and contract facilities in support of the Special Security Office (SSO) and/or Advanced Programs Support Office (APSO).
You will apply national intelligence community procedures in support of all facets of the command's Engineering and Test Evaluation programs and administer the command's SSO and/or APSO .
You will maintain a state of knowledge, awareness and preparedness to function as the Alternate Special Security Officer (ASSO) and/or Assistant Government SAP Security Officer (AGSSO).
You will brief higher authorities on the currency and accuracy of program security and analysis of program patterns as well as briefing management on recommended actions to correct program deficiencies or problem areas.
You will provide annual security briefings to the command’s indoctrinated population as well as conducting annual inspections to ensure compliance with National, Department of the Navy, and local regulations and policies.
You will offer technical advice on the development and interpretation of information security policies, regulations, and guidelines originating from higher organizational levels.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a Security Specialist ensuring security regulatory compliance across operations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
Education can be
substitutedfor experience as follows:
- successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -OR-
- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree-OR--
- LL.M., if related to the work of the position to be filled
