About the Position: This position is located with MEDDAC Troop Command, Headquarters Support Company A, Fort Carson, CO.

Duties
Implements and maintains family support services for service and family members, including those separated from their military sponsor due to mobilization/deployment, training efforts, and/or other duty requirements.
Evaluates incoming regulations and directives relating to the administration of family readiness programs, functions, and procedures.
Tracks, develops, and provides reports for family programs events and activities.
Provides technical guidance for administrative activities in functional areas within the organization.
Performs resource management functions associated with planning administration, control, and analysis of resource requirements for all elements of the program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires that the employee be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires that the employee travel away from their normal duty station temporarily up to 10% of the time for work,
training and/or conferences.
- This position may require the employee to work irregular work schedules such as evenings, weekends and overtime.
- This position requires the employee to be a fully qualified typist.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-9:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes demonstrated experience 1) coordinating all aspects of service member and family readiness programs; 2) identifying service and family member needs to connect with appropriate resources; and 3) perform a variety of tasks related to general administrative functions in support of the Family Readiness Program.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Political Science.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
***This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
