You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (OA) in the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of SURFACE MAINT ENG PLANNING PROGRAM.
Duties
You will provide support services and serve as the principal provider of correspondence coordination, administration, and facilitation in providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the office.
You will serve as assistant/advisor to the Admin. Officer on the command's business and office management policies and procedures.
You will receive telephone calls, greets visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits.
You will review and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives.
You will support administrative programs such as Change of Command, Mail Management, Travel Program, Defense Travel System, Freedom of Information Act, etc.
You will use Microsoft Products to prepare reports, presentations, and databases.
You will research and interpret governing programs and administrative regulations and directives.
You will render assistance to staff personnel in originating and drafting (formal, grammar, punctuations, etc.) of correspondence.
You will establish and maintain office files in accordance with applicable regulations and manuals and provide guidance to enhance systematic flow of correspondence and maintenance of filing systems.
You will assist Department personnel on procedures for submitting command awards and individual and team recognition.
You will assist in coordinating award ceremonies and all hands.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NK-01 (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing clerical or office automation services (e.g., preparing correspondence, presentations, drafting or compiling reports) to provide administrative support for a department or organization.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of four years of education above high school level;
-OR-
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
