You will serve as a Maintenance Services Specialist (Contracts) in the Facility & Equipment Maintenance Division (KN26) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will support all maintenance and service contracts, procurement review, contract administration and funds allocated to and expended by the Maintenance Planning Branch. You will formulate budget estimates to include planning, development, and review of funding requirements to support maintenance contract administration in all cost centers located at FRCSW and its off-sites. You will maintain database on all contracts processed, ensuring appropriate cost center funding is utilized. You will maintain a current list of equipment appropriately designated for the cost centers. You will provide contracting and budgeting documentations as well as necessary reports in support of assigned project/program. You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You may be subject to overtime, shift change, and weekend/holiday work.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing technical data relative to complex industrial equipment, e.g., schematics, maintenance, and technical specifications and drawings; 2) Researching, compiling, and interpreting complex data containing engineering, computer, and other technical terminology relative to high technology industrial equipment, and arriving at conclusions to solve problems independently; 3) Planning and developing procurement packages requesting service and maintenance contracts for high technology industrial equipment and facilities; and 4) Establishing source selection procedures and monitoring technical evaluation. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

You have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree closely related to this position.
Or
You have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree closely related to this position.
Or
You have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
Or
You have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. (To compute the percentage, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent).
