About the Position: The purpose of this position is to serve as the Lead Human Resources Technician (OA), responsible for directing and guiding 3-5 Human Resources Technicians in GS-0203-05 or military equivalent. Incumbent of this position provides technical expertise, guidance and leadership to the Processing Element of the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).
Duties
Coaches, facilitates, solves work problems and participates in the work of the MEPS Processing element.
Provides input supervisor on performance, progress, and training needs of employees, and on disciplinary problems.
Performs duties identical to those led.
Certifies that enlistment has been properly conducted and that all additional disclosed information has been supplied to the service representative.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employee may be required to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work.
- Employees will routinely be required to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.
- Employees may be required to perform occasional over night travel as assigned.
- Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required in order to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.
- This position requires a qualified typist. You must be able to type 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
