About the Position: This position is located at Lackland Air Force Base. The incumbent will advise senior Medical leadership on vital civilian human resource administrative processes. Duties may encompass matters relating to personnel management, resources management, and manpower analysis of the local workforce.

Duties

Liaison with Human Resources teams on position data and strategic recruitment approaches. Refer employees to resources regarding entitlements and/or obligations. Establish internal processes to ensure compliance with civilian personnel policies or regulations. Advise leadership on civilian personnel management, to include federal regulations and organizational instructions. Report critical milestones or personnel metrics in accordance with taskers. Manage hierarchical and organizational charts, interpreting assigned guidance to verify organization structure. Collaborate with resource management or finance office to ensure civilian authorizations are accurately identified and resourced.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Management, or other related program of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementHuman Capital ManagementPersonnel and Human ResourcesPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
