You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the DEPT OF NAVY, NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER ACFT DIV of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will solve problems effectively by using objective data to generate conclusions. Identifies customers, both internal and external, and meets their needs. You will develop and/or makes changes to quality checklists for equipment being manufactured, assembled, or overhauled and resolve discrepancies when documentation is ambiguous or not complete You will set up, calibrate programs, and operate sophisticated computerized inspection equipment including coordinate measuring machines (CMM), tensile test machines, and emission analyzers. You will participate in engineering and quality investigations of equipment found to cause problems in the Fleet. You will perform miscellaneous minor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be considered for the GS-12, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level GS-11 or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-12 Planning/monitoring and inspecting material at various manufacturing stages, installations, and reporting adverse trends and deviations from normal manufacturing performance and/or product conformance and quality; Conducting Quality Assurance (QA) monitoring and inspection duties, on assigned API systems/equipment and verifying product quality using sampling inspection or when appropriate, performs more intensive product inspection techniques; Maintaining records, reporting deficiencies, and preparing technical reports; Conducting audits of products and processes for conformance to specifications and to detecting processing and technical documentation deficiencies and recommending corrective action; Providing advice and assistance to equipment users, engineering personnel, other members of the investigating team and prepares required reports and requests for further action; Providing guidance and advice to junior QA personnel performing assigned tasks based upon understanding of the QA methodologies and requirements and complexity of the work. To be considered for the GS-11, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level GS-09 or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-11 Participating in the continuous improvement of all forms of work, including in teams which search and identify waste from all work/business processes; Assisting in Quality Assurance (QA) monitoring and inspection duties, on assigned API systems/equipment to verify product quality using sampling inspection; Conducting audits of products and processes for conformance to specifications and to detect processing and technical documentation deficiencies; Providing assistance to equipment users, engineering personnel, other members of the investigating team and prepares required reports and requests for further action.
