This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as subject matter expert (SME) Curriculum and Instruction Adviser for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Training Department, in the Education and Training (E&T) Directorate for the DEOMI Center of Excellence (COE). The incumbent is directly responsible for developing and delivering DE&I courses, seminars, and workshops.

Duties

As a DIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION ADVISER (TRAINING INSTRUCTOR) at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Advises the Department Head of DE&I and the Director of E&T on the oversight and direction of the institute's DE&I training programs. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and delivering instruction in support of the institute's goals and stakeholder training requirements. Develops and executes the long-range training plans to establish the detailed ways and means used to achieve program objectives. The incumbent collaborates extensively with subject matter experts and CoE stakeholders. Provides extensive advisory assistance of the most difficult and complex nature in the area of human relations, command climate, diversity, equity, and inclusion and culture. Continually reviews and analyzes laws, regulations, and policies to ensure training programs remain current. Provides immediate and periodic updates to appropriate officials on training program quality and program improvements. Applies advanced knowledge of the federal personnel system including knowledge of the principals involved in recruitment, selection, labor relations, job evaluation, etc. Also applies knowledge of the organizational structures, management policies, procedures, and practices of federal agencies, both civilian and military.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Participating in the development of instructional materials and curriculum for a human relations program, i.e. EO, EEO, Diversity and Equity Managing an educational or training program Delivering training and instructional materials for a human relations program Collaborating with stakeholders to promote the objectives and goals of a human relations training program Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
