The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Executive Support Specialist in the Commander's Action Group providing executive support at the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center to strategically plan, develop, implement, and disseminate information, policies and programs to enhance the mission and effectiveness of the organization.
Duties
Analyzes, develops, evaluates issues and formulates recommendations to provide executive level leadership support and guidance to the HQ AFIMSC Commander, Leadership Team, Enterprise-Wide Personnel, internal and external customers.
Oversees Strategic Production and Messaging.
Representative of the organization to internal and external organization.

- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Management and Administrative Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Experience should include comprehensive knowledge of Headquarter Staff operations and functions in order to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions for definitive input on how proposed changes would be detrimental or would enhance the mission and objectives; experience with working with Senior Executive Services members and General Officers; knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques in addition to the thorough knowledge and expert understanding of regulations, policies, and military structure.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery of knowledge in staff operations management concepts and practices related to the DoD, AF, HQ AFMC, and HQ Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) policy, program, and system requirements.
2. Mastery of knowledge on military command structure, missions, programs and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones and methods of evaluating and planning actions as related to actual events.
3. Expert skill in the ability to plan, organize, and manage the functions and staff of a medium to large sized organization. Establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
4. Expert in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, to interact and gain cooperation at the highest levels for clear, concise, and accurate information to a large range of audiences. Analytical skill and technique in creating official documents to include pamphlets, scripts, briefings, speeches, itineraries, and agendas in approved formats in language suitable for the intended audiences. Utmost tact and diplomacy are required to meet all requirements and ensure all contacts are handled appropriately.
5. Expert in the ability to plan, organize work, direct functions, meet deadlines, successfully coordinate, and motivate others, while maintaining a professional image in a day-to-day working environment with high-ranking military and civilian members.
6. Expert knowledge of various office automation software tools and techniques to support office operations, web pages and to produce a wide range of products requiring complex formats.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
