Duties
Serve as programmatic point of contact to facilitate administrative checklists and documentation before the release of awards.
Work with Program and Division/Office Directors to ensure that tasks relevant to the scientific administration of assigned grants are performed accurately and in a timely fashion.
Provide oversight regarding appropriate assurances for protection of human subjects' research and animal welfare.
Evaluate grants and grant applications both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Assist in developing and refining criteria for scientific coding and classification of grants and other award mechanisms with respect to scientific/disease content.
Design and perform analyses and evaluations of scientific and/or administrative factors affecting research program priorities, performance, and portfolio balance in scientific areas.
Serve as an intellectual resource on issues of grants-related policies, and maintains and online index of current policies, manuals, and issuances.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirement:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: utilizing qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze and develop recommendations to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of organizational programs or grants; coordinating the review of grant applications; providing guidance on legislative, regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements for grant applications and reviews; ensuring compliance of grants with applicable policies, procedures, and requirements; and evaluating new or modified legislation, policies, or procedures for impact on organizational programs.
