You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the FACILITY & PLANT PLNG DIVISION, FACILITY & INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will investigate and identify facility issues and deficiencies with supervision from senior engineers.
You will recommend modifications to facilities to accommodate new equipment.
You will evaluate mechanical systems of industrial facilities to determine how they need to be repaired, maintained, and replaced.
You will assist in identifying the need for new equipment installations supportive of mission requirements and /or reflective of new technologies.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05/GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:
GS-07
1) Participating in the development of technical procedures for the execution of maintenance, inspection, repair, and testing for cranes, hoists, and other lifting and handling equipment with supervision;
2) Performing limited reviewing of rigging plans/sketches in support of production and maintenance lifts for approval;
3) Developing cost estimates and work plans, write technical reports, and project submissions.
4) Monitoring the performance of existing Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) systems that support industrial plant equipment to optimize reliability and minimize energy consumption; and
5) Applying predictive and preventative tools and techniques to improve facility and equipment reliability.
GS-09
1) Providing engineering technician support and oversight of all facets of the site weight handling program;
2) Ensuring that weight handling equipment is safe to operate, weight handling operations are conducted safely and efficiently and to ensure optimum equipment service life;
3) Investigating and identifying facilities issues/deficiencies and generate projects with supervision from senior engineers;
4) Reviewing rigging plans/sketches in support of production and maintenance lifts for approval; and
5) Developing technical procedures for the execution of maintenance, inspection, repair, and testing for cranes, hoists, and other lifting and handling equipment.

Education
