You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/INFOSEC) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

You will establish program metrics to measure program performance against established goals. You will develop risk analysis for new and current information systems, network software, or hardware. You will collaborate with information technology (IT) clients and customers to assess their needs and provide quality products and services. You will assess information technology (IT) capacity requirements to determine which hardware and software components will be needed. You will develop information technology (IT) configuration management lifecycle processes for use in the implementation of software applications.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Technical Support Specialist level 411 within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

This position has been designated as a Cyber Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) primary role of (411 Technical Support Specialist) proficiency level intermediate and, as a condition of employment, the incumbent of the position is required to maintain qualifications in accordance with DON Cyber Workforce Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2." Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying advanced IT concepts, principles, and practices applicable to a broad range of IT network and Cybersecurity subject matter that includes, network architecture, systems integration, software delivery and end user support; 2) Utilizing NMCI/NGEN contract vehicles for ordering and delivery of IT solutions, and general contract management experience; 3) Using NMCI related computer based tools (i.e. NMCI Enterprise Tool (NET), RAPT, and e-Marketplace) in order to maintain asset inventories, process MAC & CLIN requests, and produce reports as needed; 4) Utilizing the NMCI contract to include the Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) to ensure the correct option is ordered to meet customer requirements and the ability to collect, analyze and assess detailed information in large data sets. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is predominantly sedentary but will on occasion require inspection or delivery of network infrastructure or end user devices and computers, which could require lifting and moving equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is mostly performed in an office environment, but also requires regular trips to different buildings and data closets throughout the campus to examine equipment or confirm delivery of new capability from the contractor. Special safety precautions are not normally required.
