The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Logistics Management Specialist and to assist the Chief of Logistics Plans in managing the largest deployment commitment in AETC.
Duties
Provides Logistics planning and programming services to the 37TRW, 59MW and other tenant organizations.
Evaluates all matters pertaining to the Logistics Plans function for all host and tenant units of the 37 TRW.
Assists the Installation Deployment Officer in directing, controlling, and coordinating installation deployments (including tenant and transiting forces) as directed by the Wing Commander.
Serves as the assistant OPR for the Integrated Deployment System (IDS). Maintains the Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Execution System (DECAPES) and the Logistics Module (TG-4) data bases used to support the automated systems to prepare and execute actions to deploy forces.
Assists In the management of WRM assets assigned to Lackland to support the largest deployment commitment In AETC.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of Logistics Plans, principals. concepts, methodology, operations, and management to accomplish Logistics Plans mission. Knowledge of DOD, JCS, AF and AETC Logistics plans, procedures, and policies. Knowledge of Logistics planning techniques in functional areas of supply, transportation and contracting. Operational concepts of material support activities to assist in developing evaluating and implementing plans, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of the major issues, program goals, and objectives, work processes and administrative operations of the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-07 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in the application of DOD, Joint and AF Logistics Plans, principals, concepts and methodologies to plan and execute deployment, WRM, base support planning and support agreement directives, concepts, procedures, guidance and policy.
Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems. and execute required objectives to meet mission requirements.
Ability to work independently, carry out and complete tasks involving deployments, WRM base support planning and other Logistics Plans programs.
Skill in conducting interviews with supervisors, employees, and other customers to obtain information about deployments and other missions and functions.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy and diplomacy.
Ability to access or located information through the use of a personnel computer and software programs. Ability to determine needs for development of training courses and conduct classroom training as required.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
