About the Position: Serves as a Workforce Management Specialist for the PEO Missile. Incumbent serves as advisor with responsibility for the accomplishment of the build-the-bench and succession planning including the development oversight and administrative management of trainee/interns up through, completion at the journeyman level. This is a Term APPT NTE 13 Months. Please refer to the "additional information" section for more information.

Duties

Oversee all facets of intern training program administration (i.e., identifying available courses, disseminating course information to interns, answering inquiries regarding course) on behalf of the PEO Missile Project Office. Attends college and university career and technical fairs to acquire qualified candidates for positions within Project Office. Monitor intern developmental assignments to assess the progression of individual development and achievement of planned learning objectives. Develop short- and long-term workforce development plans for assigned Project Office.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require up to 25% Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) for attendance at various training and intern recruitment events at schools and colleges, visits to remote PEO locations at APG, and other training and seminars to support the program.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) evaluating career management and/or career development needs to produce improvement strategies; (2)utilizing civilian workforce management policies to make recommendations to management; (3) advising personnel on a variety of procedural matters pertaining to workforce development functions; and (4) assisting management in the development of training for personnel within organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-2/GS-11).
