The New Mexico VA Healthcare Network is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant position is located in the Office of the Director in the Quality and Patient Safety Service (QPS). The incumbent will provide analytical, administrative, and clerical support to multiple program managers that comprise QPS.
Duties
Performs work involving collecting, compiling, and tracking data and logarithmic information in support of all programs comprising Quality and Patient Safety Service (QPS).
Responsible for recruitment and in-processing actions related to position vacancies within QPS.
Independently coordinates and tracks agenda items, including presentations, reports, meeting minutes, attendance, and standards for multiple QPS program monthly meetings.
Performs work related to the acquisition and/or development of program information and resource materials/personnel to support the policy development and/or technical activities of an organization.
Serves as Timekeeper for the Quality Assurance Service.
Establishes and maintains office technical and administrative files in accordance with applicable regulations.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level. Specialized experience includes: preparing correspondence using correct grammar, punctuation, format and style.; maintaining files and records; utilizing automated systems to input, maintain and retrieve information; and answering and directing phone calls.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06level.
