About the Position: This Campaign Planner position is located at Redstone Arsenal, AL with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-5, Plans, Strategy & Policy Directorate.
Duties
Directly works with the Army Staff, three combatant command staffs, two major subordinate elements (MSE), two operational brigades, and Army space, missile defense, and other forces operationally deployed to nearly two-dozen sites worldwide.
The incumbent works directly for the G-52 Campaign Plans Division Chief and the DCoS, G-5 Director who provide broad guidance and direction regarding tasks, priorities, and objectives.
Provide subject matter expertise for planning, coordinating, resourcing, and integrating space (Space Control, Space Situational Awareness, and other space capabilities), and missile defense (Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD)) into USASMDC
combatant command, service, Joint strategies, campaign plans, and operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Info. Intelligence Community Dir 704 Security Clearance.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 10% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading the development of assessments, campaign plans, other plans, strategies, policies, and concepts; leading, planning and/or preparing products for operational planning teams (OPTs), working groups, and meetings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03.
