Duties

You will serve as a Systems Analyst involved in all functional systems design duties involved with the development and/or maintenance of one or more complete systems, applications, or equivalent. With direction from the Senior Analyst, you will create or modify various (financial, supply, acquisition and/or other government functional requirements) functional or design documents. You will assist the senior analyst with feasibility studies to determine practicality of requirements from an Information Technology (IT) standpoint. You will develop proposed design approach and validates with customer, ensuring design is consistent with law and security/privacy regulations. You will assist in the development of an overall test plan for area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating a broad knowledge of computers, systems, hardware, software, networks, and data communication techniques to assist in carrying out general assignments and a variety of computer programs and equipment within the organization. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Providing customer support to explain how the system operates and/or research unexpected results; 2) Assisting in identifying/ defining/modifying interfaces with other systems or applications; 3) Assisting in preparing system documentation and technical reports; 4) Assisting with the planning and carrying out of IT design studies to determine feasibility of requirements and design alternatives; 5) Communicating technical information related to information technology to peers, managers, and/or users. Education


In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:

Successful completion of 1 full year of graduate level education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Successful completion of a bachelors degree with superior academic achievement with a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
