About the Position: Work is performed across Fort Cavazos, TX in a variety of healthcare, ambulatory care, and business occupancies. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices and meeting rooms. Work hours will generally be between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.,with 1 hour for lunch. Training in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101 Life Safety Code preferred.

Duties

Analyzes the nature and scope of projects, makes feasibility studies, and reconciles project intent with sound engineering practices. Develops cost estimates to aid in the plan and control of projects. Develops construction plans and specifications for large and small facilities supporting a variety of functions using conventional materials and a wide range of contracting methods. Discusses plans and specifications with contractors, construction inspectors, and shop personnel, rendering interpretation and technical assistance as the need arises. Reviews projects prepared by commercial engineers to determine compliance with applicable standards, including NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 99 Healthcare Facility Code, and Healthcare Accreditation Standards of The Joint Commission.

• This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
